Multiple RDP Sessions to Windows 7 Home Computer
Have you ever wanted to make two RDP sessions to a single Windows 7 Operating System? If you are running Windows 2008 R2 Server then you surely have come across the need to make more than one connection. With this simple tweak, you can make Dual RDP Sessions to most Windows 7 or Windows Servers. I have been using this tweak for at least three years and have not had a single problem.
Instructions on setting up Dual RDP for Windows
The steps involved in setting up multiple remote desktop sessions to a Windows 7 machine are simple and can be completed in ten minutes or less. The image below illustrates what you can do once you set up the dual-rdp functionality in your Windows 7, Windows 7 Home Premium. This has not been tested in Windows 8 but I believe that Windows 8 is different and you should not try.
If you do not have multiple-rdp (dual-rdp) set up on the computer then you’ll see this message when trying to make a second connection to the same machine concurrently.
Enable Dual Remote Desktop for Windows 7
Download the RDP patch for Windows 7 here, and save it to your hard drive. Unzip the contents and navigate to the unzipped files. Find the file named install.cmd and run it via the right-click “Run As Administrator” on your Windows computer. When running the Dual-RDP fix you’ll see a black command prompt box, wait for the program to finish running and you see the message saying that the service is listening, and press any key to continue.

If you were simply looking for dual monitors and not multiple concurrent account login that Dual RDP provides then you can follow these simple instructions on Tech Republic, a website that I happen to enjoy for tech articles. If you’re using multiple monitors on your system setup and you regularly connect to other systems via RDP then you know that it sucks to downgrade from a triple, dual monitor system to a single one just because you are using Remote Desktop!
NOTE: dual-monitors ability is available only in the Ultimate and Enterprise (server) editions.

My company is trying to remotely serve an app that requires windows XP and IE to iOS devices (mostly iPad). Ideally, we would like to setup a server computer, and have it accessible in the field by our iPads. I thought of VNC, or RDP, but the problem I think that will have is they only allow for 1 client to be controlling (There can be 1-10 usining this app at a given time).
Is this possible? What would I need to setup on the server, and what would be some iOS apps compatible for this task.
